Manny Pacquiao returns on Saturday from a short lived retirement to fight Jesse Vargas for the WBO Welterweight Title. It seems Manny can’t make up his mind on who he wants to be his next opponent, as he’s said he’s eyeing up Golovkin, and also amir Khan, both of different weights. The 160lb Unified Middleweight monster Gennady Golovkin is definitely in need of a career defining fight, and fighting Pacquiao would certainly bring in the numbers. But seeing as there is talk of GGG moving up to 168lbs, and Manny looking at Lomachenko as a possible future opponent, the GGG fight seems a bit of a wild shot in the dark. In the middle of both weights, leaves a super fight with Amir Khan who has recently come off a devastating KO at the hands of Mexico’s Canelo Alvarez. Manny is 37 now and is arguably on his last final handful of fights, and is probably looking to get as bigger paydays as possible and a fight with Khan would certainly generate massive money in Las Vegas. Khan seeming happy to fight Pacquiao too, it could be on the cards for 2017.
