Since winning the WBO Light Middleweight Title against Liam Smith, Canelo has been hoarded with demand from fans for a fight with Kazakhstan unified Middleweight monster Gennady Golovkin. Canelo’s soon due mandatory will be undefeated fighter Demetrius Andrade who seems to be someone Golden Boy Promotions aren’t too keen on Canelo facing.
Abel Sanchez, GGG’s Trainer has said he has heard Canelo will be vacating his title and moving up to the Middleweight division. If this is the case, there should be even more reason for a super fight with Golovkin. If Canelo was to hold on to his WBO Light Middleweight belt, he could enforce a mandatory spot next year to face Billy Joe Saunders for his WBO Middleweight title however providing he goes down this route he will have to face Andrade.
