In preparation for his fight against Joseph Parker for the vacant WBO Heavyweight Title on December 10th in New Zealand, Andy Ruiz Jr is looking to have had a very good camp. Shredding the pounds and looking good on the pads, it seems to be Abel Sanchez is getting the best out of him.
Ruiz has said that also in training, Gennady Golovkin has been helping him and showing him a few things to work on Despite a massive difference in weight, you cant help but think being showed some tips and tricks from the unified Middleweight Champion wouldn’t go a miss.
Andy Ruiz Jr has often been under looked due to his slightly larger than life appearance. He does not look like an athletic guy compared to others in division, but hes undefeated in 29 fights with 19 of them coming by knockout. Parker will be his biggest test yet, and with his first chance at a world title shot it will seem to be a career defining performance if he comes through successfully.
The work Abel Sanchez seems to be doing is obviously working well, he seems to be shredding the weight and his body is in the best shape its been in years. Parker will be coming in at the bookies favorite and would be expected to win quite comfortably. I would be banking on a stoppage but after the scenes in Monaco last Saturday with Luis Ortiz and Malik Scott, I cant be so sure.
