Since struggling to find a breakthrough after suffering his first career defeat at the hands of WBO Middleweight Champion Billy Joe Saunders, there has been more going on for Eubank outside the ring than inside it.
Both him and his father Chris Eubank Senior seeming to be a promoters nightmare, have been demanding outrageous things for shows, purses, commentators, ring walks and various other things, the list goes on. At the moment Eubank is British Middleweight Champion. This its a prestigious title in itself, however it doesn’t bring the bargaining power that a world title belt brings, which seems to be the problem when dealing with the Eubanks.
Having messed around Matchroom in talks with Gennady Golovkin, and pulling out of a fight with Tommy Langford on boxnation, the Eubanks are not spoiled for choice at the moment. Knowing this they have tweeted Eddie Hearn and Anthony Joshua asking to appear on the undercard of December 10th headlined by Anthony Joshua v Eric Molina for the IBF Heavyweight Title in Joshua’s second defence of the belt.
After the disappointing card in Monaco last Saturday, Hearn said on an interview with IFL TV that he thinks its highly likely. Seeming a little bit annoyed at Eubank’s tweet, saying you cant just expect a payday after messing people around, it seems unlikely the two will work together any time soon.
