JOSH WARRINGTON & MATCHROOM BOXING PART WAYS

Undefeated Leeds fighter Josh Warrington has parted ways with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom sport. Hearn commented on the situation saying that when it came to renewing their contracts, the two sides couldn’t agree on future plans.

Hearn has recently said in an interview he wants to cut his stable down dramatically to world level fighters and pay per view headliners, and wants to get rid of the deadwood. Its surprising that he didn’t keep hold of Warrington as Hearn felt he was replicating a Ricky Hatton type persona at his home town.

Warrington brings a massive crowd in Leeds and often spoke about a big fight with IBF featherweight champion Lee Selby at Elland Road. I would be shocked if he chooses to go anywhere else other than Boxnation and a signing like this for Frank Warren is a good little deal.
