After a year of raking in the cash and protecting his fighters in big mismatches, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions Oscar De La Hoya is at it again with another shambolic claim.
This year they were on the end of heavy criticism after ducking a fight with Gennady Golovkin, and vacating one of the most prestigious governing bodies belts, the WBC Middleweight Title so they didn’t have to fight him.
As rumors kept circling the issue, it came to light that it was infact Canelo’s promoter Oscar De La Hoya that didn’t want the fight, and was placing absurd negotiations in order to push the Kazakh away without it seeming like they ducked him.
As we all know Conor McGregor has recently obtained a boxing licence and after the footage of him sparring a seasoned fighter was put online, it was best he stayed in the octagon doing what he does best, as his boxing skills are poor.
Despite this being very clear to even the casual fan that McGregor’s boxing skills are not up to scratch, it still didn’t stop De La Hoya claim “The only fight that makes sense for him is to fight Canelo”. The guy really has no shame and I wouldn’t be surprised if he pursues that.
