George Groves has been granted another world title shot against Fedor Chudinov for the WBA Super Middleweight Title after Felix Sturm decided to vacate the belt.
Team Sauerland have confirmed the fight will take place until January 5th 2017 and then a date and venue should be confirmed. Groves has come up short three times in his world title shots, twice against Carl Froch and once from a split decision loss to Badou Jack.
Fedor Chudinov has one loss on his record and that is against Felix Sturm who has had a saga of injuries and failed drugs test that have kept him unable to fight, and in turn giving Chudinov and Groves the chance to fight for his vacant belt.
If Groves is successful and gains his first world title belt, a huge unification clash would be on the horizon against IBF champion James DeGale providing DeGale comes through WBC champion Badou Jack. Either way the division could start hotting up.
