After months of failed negotiations and going to the pursebids, the fight between unified champion Gennady Golovkin will take on WBA Regular Middleweight champion Danny Jacobs on March 18th at Madison Square Garden.
This fight was originally scheduled for December 10th however negotiations fell through and were delayed due to a difficulty coming together with the purses, with Jacobs requesting more than what he was offered.
The fight will be aired on HBO PPV in America, with no undercard announced yet. Golovkin hasn’t been in the ring since slaughtering Kell Brook in 5 rounds over in England, with Jacobs being out of action since since September as well, seeing him knockout Sergio Mora for a second time in his career.
Golovkin will enter the fight with a record of 36-0-0 (33ko’) and Jacobs with a record of 32-10 (29ko’s), both massive punchers. Jacobs only career lost coming at the hands of Dmitry Pirog in 5 rounds. Its sure someone is getting knocked out, but most likely going to be Jacobs.
