With WBC Cruiserweight Champion Tony Bellew signed to face David Haye on March the 4th at Heavyweight, the WBC have confirmed he will be able to keep hold of his belt, but the number 2 and 3 ranked fighters must fight eachother for the interim belt, Mairis Briedis.

This seems a bit unfair on Briedis as hes been mandatory for a while now and has still not received a contract from Tony Bellew’s promoter Eddie Hearn and now he has to risk his mandatory spot, however its a very interesting fight for the fans and an extremely entertaining match up.

Both fighters are coming off the back of recent wins, with Briedis extending his undefeated record to 21-0-0 (18ko’s) and Huck extending his to 40-3-1 (27ko’s). The fight is expected to take place on either March 18th or April 1st.
