37-year-old Polish Heavyweight Mariusz Wach was due to fight for the vacant EBU Heavyweight Title against Agit Kabayel, scheduled for February 4th in Magdeburg. The belt was recently vacated by Kubrat Pulev as he chose the route of facing an aged Samuel Peter instead.
Nothing has yet been confirmed to why Wach has pulled out of the chance to pick up the European Heavyweight Title, but rumors are circling that he might end up fighting drugs cheat Erkan Teper in Stuttgart on March 18. Wach has a record of 32-2-0 (17ko’s) and Teper has a record of 16-1-0 (10ko’s).
To replace Mariusz Wach for the chance to pick up the vacant EBU Heavyweight Championship belt will be Belgian Herve Hubeaux, 26-1-0.
