Undefeated & Unified WBA, WBC, IBF & IBO Middleweight Champion of the world Gennady Golovkin, 36-0-0 (33ko’s) will be moving up to Super Middleweight in 2018, and by 2020 providing he ages well, will step up to light heavyweight and fluctuate between the two, according to his trainer Abel Sanchez.

The only belt left for Golovkin to capture is the WBO Middleweight title, held by Billy Joe Saunders but with Saunders having two mandatory’s enforced and the possibility of facing Canelo Alvarez, the fight with Golovkin seems further adrift.

There is some huge matchups for Golovkin up at 168lbs with the likes of James DeGale, Badou Jack, Chris Eubank Jr, Gilberto Ramirez & George Groves, all of which have been calling him out.

For now though Gennady’s intentions are to unify the division and capture the final belt he is missing before he moves up, but with him struggling to find opponents due to his fearsome record, it might take him a while.
