The former WBC Super Middleweight champion Badou Jack has last night vacated his 168lbs belt and has informed the WBC he will be moving up to 175lbs to fight at Light Heavyweight.
After walking away with a draw against James DeGale last weekend, there were obvious immediate calls for a rematch, to which he said he would only fight at Light Heavyweight, a challenge DeGale will not do.
From what Badou Jack and his promoter Floyd Mayweather have been saying, they will be using there WBC status at 168lbs and will be going straight for the WBC champion at 175lbs in Adonis Stevenson.
Callum Smith will now fight for the vacant title and its seeming like it will be against Anthony Dirrell. Unsure whether the fight will get made in the U.K. or not but it’s definitely an easier route than either DeGale or Jack for Smith to take.
