Undefeated WBC Heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder 37-0-0 (36ko’s) was recently set to face Polish challenger Andrzej Wawrzyk until he tested positive for steroids. It has just been announced he will face Gerald Washington 18-0-1 (12ko’s) on the same date, February 25th!
The 34-year-old American is a former football player and turned to boxing only 5 years ago at the age of 29. He stands at 6’6″ and has only recently started to have some fringe level names on his resume with Eddie Chambers & Amir Mansour being in his last three fights.

This will be Wilder’s first fight back since tearing his bicep and breaking his right hand when he knocked out Chris Arreola last year, but you would assume this test will be quite easy also, judging by Washington’s lack of experience.
The fight will be going ahead of February 25th in Alabama.
