Bob Arum has confirmed the fight with Manny Pacquiao v Jeff Horn will no longer be going ahead, instead Pacman will be chasing a mega money fight deal elsewhere. He announced last night that his team are in talks with Amir Khan.

Pacman and Horn were set to face each other this April in what would have been the biggest fight staged over in Australia. The fight has now fallen through as Manny has been offered serious money to stage a fight over in the UAE.

Khan hasn’t been action since being knocked out cold in the 6th round against Canelo Alvarez, on the 7th May 2016. He stepped up two divisions from welterweight to face the Mexican superstar at middleweight, a decision that turned out to be a bad one.

Khan has been in talks with Kell Brook for the past few months, but the pair couldn’t agree a deal and Brook put pen to paper to face dangerous undefeated American challenger Errol Spence Jr. The negotiations fell through as Khan demanded no less than a 70/30% split, and Kell wanted a 50/50%.

Manny Pacquiao hasn’t been in the ring since winning the WBO welterweight title against Jessie Vargas in November 2016. That came 7 months after his short-lived retirement fight, beating Timothy Bradley Jr for the second time.

Manny tweeted last night “My team and I are in negotiations with Amir Khan for our next fight. Further announcement coming soon.

This would be an incredible fight, but I would have to side with Pacquiao to knock Khan out personally. We all know Khan’s chin is made of paper and despite not finishing an opponent off since 2009, Pacman definitely has the power to exploit Khan’s glass chin.
