As the saga of contracts continuted to drop further into the WBO’s deadline, the pair have finally agreed a deal and will no longer face on April 1st.
The pursebid had been placed at £3million with a 60/40% in favour of Parker. It seemed the pair had agreed terms, however, Parkers promoter, Duco Events, suggested that Hughie was taking too long to sign a contract.
Unaware yet as to whether his father and trainer Peter Fury will be granted a visa due to his criminal past, the pair have now agreed that May 6th will be the date over in New Zealand. This will feature as a big day of boxing as Canelo Alvarez v Julio Cesar Chavez Jr will fight later on that day.
