Floyd Mayweathers undefeated 22-year-old protegé Gervonta Davis will make the first defence of his IBF super featherweight title against undefeated British champion Liam Walsh.
There have been calls for this fight ever since the 22-year-old scored an impressive knockout of Jose Pedraza back on the undercard of James DeGale v Badou Jack in January. Davis has a record of 17-0 (16ko’s) and is an extremely hot prospect to keep your eye on.
Liam Walsh is the older man by 8 years, coming in with a record of 21-0 (14ko’s) and has been due a world title shot for sometime now. Both men are tricky southpaw’s and the styles should clash to make an exciting fight.
The venue and date are going to be confirmed at tomorrows press conference held by hall of fame promoter Frank Warren as he is met by Floyd Mayweather, the promoter of Davis to reveal all to the fans.
A very exciting and promising move from Frank Warren as he looks to capitalize on the opportunities he has been given since signing with BT Sport.
