Today was the press conference of WBA Super Flyweight champion Kal Yafai as he announces his homecoming show in Birmingham, making the first defence of his world title.
The undefeated Brit became the new WBA Super Flyweight champion in December 2016 with a unanimous decision victory against Luis Concepcion. The Panamanian had already lost the belt on the scales as he failed to make-weight.
Yafai is back and will be making the first defence of his title against Suguru Muranaka. The bout will take place on May 13th at the Barclaycard Arena in Birmingham. The 31-year-old Japanese fighter is the former Japanese flyweight champion and has moved up to bantamweight previously.
Sam Eggington will also feature on the bill as he looks to become the new EBU European welterweight champion, taking on Ceferino Rodriguez. Frankie Gavin takes on Dave Ryan also and Gavin has stated his intentions to boil down to 140lbs to face Ricky Burns.
Gamal Yafai, Jordan Clayton, Leon Gower, Lennox Clarke and Sean Davis will also be on the bill.
