The confirmation has finally arrived of Shannon Briggs v Fres Oquendo for the vacant WBA Regular Heavyweight title on June 3rd, likely to be in Florida.

Briggs is a three-time world champion over three different decades and is looking to become a world champion once again, this time the oldest heavyweight champion in boxing history.

The bout is scheduled to take place in Florida and the pair will face off in one of the oldest aged contested heavyweight world title bouts as they now have a joined age of 88. The pair hit stumbling blocks previously when problems aroused due to purse bids, although it is still not clear what the final bid was and the percentage split.
