In light of Jorge Linares outstanding performance against Anthony Crolla last weekend, WBC champion Mikey Garcia has made known his ambitions to unify the division, and he wants it this summer!
Jorge Linares and Anthony Crolla met last weekend in their rematch for the WBA and WBC Diamond belts. The expected outcome happened with Linares walking his way to another easy victory, this time even more impressive than the last.
Mikey Garcia made his return to the world scene in January with an incredible knockout of undefeated title holder Dejan Zlaticanin and is currently many people’s pound for pound star in the lightweight division.
Garcia has stated – “He looked great. He obviously performed better than on the first night. This time he out-boxed Crolla a lot easier, showed skill, showed flexibility, moving around the ring, combinations, dropped him with that uppercut.
“I think it would be a great, great fight with me. I look forward to that. He didn’t get cut. I don’t see him injured, so I think we can get to work and maybe fight this summer.”
